Kaavalan...ASIN'S upcoming release with ILAYATHALAPATHY VIJAY

Kaaval Kadal is protecting

Though South Indian Film Chamber has banned its members not to visit lanka, Asin did not really bother and visited Lanka, breaking the rule.  Asin is a brave girl and had guts even to pose for photos along with alleged war criminal Rajapakse's wife.

Though Radha Ravi and Sathyaraj critisised her behaviour publicly, Asin never opened her mouth or felt sorry for her act.  Looks like Vijay is supporting her a lot and concerned about her. The fact is that some time back Vijay was found fasting and giving lectures  in support of Lankan Tamils. Still he is supporting Asin since she is his ever green pair in movies.

If sources are to be trusted looks like Asin is making use of this relationship to get police protection for her to roam around in Tamil Nadu.  Well the very latest buzz is that Asin have plans to visit lanka once again after completing 'Kaaval Kaadhal' along with Vijay.

Tough Competitors

Tough competition between Asin and Trisha
As every one knows, the latest hot hot news in Kollywood and Malluwood is all about Asin and her bollywood BF Salman Khan for which one should thank SJ Surya.

She is playing lady lead role in the movie Bodyguard which is a Malayalam remake starring Salman Khan.  Well looks like Trisha is competing her level best to impress Salman and grab Asin position.  Still bad luck, unfortunately only Asin is winning the game as of now. The fight between these hot sexy babes has become a daily discussion in Indian cinema industry in today’s scenario.
Well lets wait and see who wins the race in final round.  Lets wish both beauties all the very best.

Surya’s blind eye towards Asin
Sep 17, 2006
Asin
Surya hosted a wedding party on September 12, at Dublin, Park Sheraton right after the wedding to celebrate the grand success of his wedding. Surya’s invitees list included Ajith, Shalini, Dhanush, Aishwarya, Gautham Menon, Priyadarshan, Reema Sen, Silambarasan, Sonia Aggarwal, Dharani, and Abbas who were seen having a bash at the party.

While the
guest list was almost spotless, Surya’s lead lady in Gajini, Asin was not to be seen anywhere in the party.
As you might well remember, Surya and Asin’s friendship suffered a setback when the latter turned down the role played by Bhumika in SOK. Asin refused the offer stating that the role offered to her is not meaty enough. Surya is obviously not happy with this.

Though Asin attended the wedding function and blessed the couple, she did not turn up for the party. Well to be precise, she was not invited by Surya.
Jyothika Surya & Asin
Asin confirms this and states that she has no grudges whatsoever and attended the wedding function
But she is hurt that Surya has failed to invite her to the wedding party, which he threw.

The on-screen chemistry, in Gajini, between Surya and Asin captured all our hearts making them the hottest pair in Tamil cinema. But their good relationship was fugacious after Asin declined Surya's Sillunu Oru Kadhal which then went to Bhumika. So ever since Vel was announced by director Hari with Surya and Asin in the lead, speculations were rife that Asin would again decline the offer.
Asin
Moreover, after setting her foot in Bollywood, with superstar Aamir Khan in the Gajini remake, her appearance in this Tamil movie seemed doubtful.

Rumors mills were working overtime speculating that Trisha and Genelia also figured in the list of prospective heroines. But director Hari scotched these rumors when our Behindwoods correspondent asked him about this issue. The director said that "Asin is the heroine of Vel and the shooting would commence during the first week of June". It seems Asin would complete her role in the Hindi Gajini and would fly back to be a part of Vel. Fans and movie buffs should be quite pleased as the mega hit Gajini pair will set the big screen on fire again.

Only for Surya & Asin: Mr. Eyes

Only for Surya & Asin: Mr. Eyes

Mr. Eyes

Mr. Eyes Ram Gopal Varma's Comment about Surya's Speaking , volcano eyes...

I have always been asked this question regards to which actor surprised me the most that I have ever worked with and now I can say without a doubt that it is Surya. To elaborate on this answer I have to define first what the word ‘ACTOR’ means to me. Most people I know including both laymen and film industry people cannot differentiate between an Actor and a Character. A character is a sum result of various elements like the written role, the way the scene has been edited, the performances of the co-actors the progression of the screenplay with respect to that particular actor and of course what the actor himself brings to the table. But in this respect he is one of the many elements that contribute to the overall effect. The true test for a cinematic actor in front of a movie camera can only come in between action and cut. That’s because he has to draw an emotion on cue without the progression of the emotional content of the whole scene and the screenplay backing him up to as how it would be seen by the audience in the final cut.
Amitabh Bachchan has a holding power through his eyes which look outwardly as calm as a sea. But if you look closely enough they have the depth of an ocean. In contrast the feelings in Surya’s eyes are like a seething volcano erupting through a rough sea. In some close-ups in “Rakta Charitra” I felt that the intensity in his eyes would burn the camera. I find it difficult to understand what emotional depths and sensitivity Surya as a person could have experienced in life for him to be possessing so much within his eyes for him to be able to convey such tremendous intensity through his eyes. His eyes don’t just speak… they literally scream.
As a Director it’s my job to have certain visualization and understanding towards how a character I conceived should look like on the screen but it will be still theoretical no matter how much clarity I might have or how much I might prepare myself. The real effect of a character eventually will come only when the said actor performs in front of the camera.
A long time ago Cinematographer P.C.Sree Ram told me that there is no greater cinematic visual than an actor performing in a tight close up and he added that no grand sets or exotic locations can ever match up to the expressions of an actor. I completely endorse that and the best use of it I put for the first time in “Sarkar”. It was a study in close-ups where I was cutting from emotion to emotion rather than to have informative shots.
But with Surya in “Rakta Charitra” I had to reinvent my taking style to be able to do justice to what he brought out through his eyes in front of the camera. Agreed that the subject matter is volatile and the role he is playing is very complex but purely as an actor his understanding of the emotional nuances of the character simply blew me away.
They say that a man’s eyes are a window into his heart and his mind. In person when I interact with Surya regardless of his genuine warmth as a person the windows of his eyes remain closed but on the cue of mine as a Director when I call for “action” he opens those windows so wide and so correctly that you can peer into every nook and corner of his character’s emotional nakedness.
Purely for want of a better word to describe the effect I am feeling as a Director as I see his eyes through my camera, I want to call him Mr.Eyes.
P.S: I am posting some pics of Surya in here from some scenes in “Rakta Charitra” to illustrate this point of mine.

    Surya To Do Thuppariyum Anand?

    Surya To Do Thuppariyum Anand?

Director Gowtham Menon is curiously looking out for a hero for his next movie “Thuppariyum Anand’. It looks like that his close pal Surya, is going to do the lead role in the movie. Another interesting buzz about the film is Gowtham Menon signing British Model Amy Jackson of “Madharasapattinam’ fame for the female lead role.
“Thuppariyum Anand’ will be a suspense thriller set in backdrops of 1930s with film revolving around a detective investigating series of murders held in city of ancient Chennai.
In a recent interview, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa had mentioned that both he and Gowtham Menon have already started their researches based on working style of detectives during pre independence era.
Although Gowtham Menon has made official confirmations on “Thuppariyum Anand’, he hasn’t uttered anything on the star cast.

Surya's 7 am arivu in Hindi

Director Murugadoss’ ‘7m Arivu’ has got bigger with a Hindi version also officially added now. The film which was meant to be in Tamil and Telugu will now have a Hindi version also and that will serve as a re-launch pad for Shruthi in Bollywood.

It is said that, Kamal Haasan was the first choice of Murugadoss for ‘7m Arivu’ but when he approached, Kamal suggested to work with Shruthi instead. As Shruthi’s Bollywood career hasn’t taken off satisfactorily they have decided to use this film as a second launch.

Shruthi Kamal’s debut film in Bollywood ‘Luck’ was a commercial flop and this time it seems the father Kamal is taking the responsibility of doing things right for her daughter in Bollywood.

Now that ‘7m Arivu’ in Hindi also, the new development is sure to increase the stake value of Surya in Bollywood. Surya will quickly have a Hindi release after his already completed ‘Raktha Chartira’.
